So, of course, Windows has a bigger hold of the general market.īigger companies, esp in tech, prefer Mac OS to be the universal standard for all of their employees. It’s just every existing OS and, yeah, that includes public schools distributing Chromebooks to kids, ma and pop businesses that require only basic tools and individual PC users for personal use. That data isn’t filtered for industries, company sizes, whether elearning authoring is part of the usage. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were losing out on huge clientele in terms of corporate licensing.

Even if they did put out a Mac version, it wouldn’t be my choice. Stick with Storyline, which I’m already finding to be very lacking and would mean much more time wasted with applying object style changes, limited advanced actions and other gaps I’m noticing.Īnd as someone who likes to get really creative and put in unexpected yet impactful learning activities in my eLearnings, I’m really not impressed with Storyline. But what do we do with all the courses that were created in Rise? Or Recommend letting our Articulate license expire and request a Captivate license this winter so no one in my team who develops content would require two laptops. So now I’m in the position of having to decide whether to: The entire company uses MacBook Pro but the previous ED asked for a “PC” laptop to use Storyline… but she never created a single Storyline training as far as I can see. The employer already had a license with Articulate 360 and have been primarily using Rise to create courses, which is essentially the Squarespace of elearning authoring. I just started a new job as an eLearning developer and this has been a nonstop thorn in my side. If links are abused (excessive/obvious promotion), then they will be disabled.
